Opening Ceremony

The official kick of to Johnson County Old Settlers! An ASL interpreter, presented by Kansas School for the Deaf, will be available during the Opening Ceremony to help ensure the celebration is accessible to all. 

The ceremony will include:

• Bugle reveille
• Flyover (weather permitting) from the Commemorative Air Force Heart of America Wing
• Johnson County Sheriff’s Honor Guard
• Bones Midwest to play The Star-Spangled Banner
• Introduction of the Johnson County Commissioners

  *Becky Fast: 1st District Commissioner
  *Jeff Meyers: 2nd District Commissioner
  *Julie Brewer: 3rd District Commissioner
  *Janeé Hanzlick: 4th District Commissioner
  *Michael Ashcraft: 5th District Commissioner
  *Shirley Allenbrand: 6th District Commissioner
• Introduction of the Johnson County City Mayors
  * John Bacon from Olathe
• Introduction of the Johnson County Old Settlers Association Executive Board
• A brief event overview
